1. A Raisin in the Sun by Lorraine Hansberry

A Raisin in the Sun by Lorraine Hansberry is much more than play–it is one of the few love stories that shows how black marriage can endure even the most awful of situations. There was definitely no shacking up or hooking up for these two. Walter Lee and Ruth definitely go through their fair share of troubles (including a brush with the topic of abortion) but through thick and thin they stay together which makes their love that much stronger.
